Student Recitals

Performing is a large, important part of playing an instrument.  Our program not only offers performance opportunities at the end of each semester, but make it a requirement for succeeding in our program*.  After learning and studying music during a full five-month semester, our students will be able to present their work to friends, family and the rest of the SICOM community.  Please make sure you familiarize yourself with the following information regarding student recitals here at SICOM.

Students must register no later than two weeks prior to the recital.  If the student is not ready to play by the due-date, the student will have to wait until next semester.  Students register with their studio teacher.  Parents, once the student has been approved and registered by the teacher to perform in the recital, parents will now sign-up for recital times in the office.  Spaces in each recital are limited and on a first come, first serve basis.

Student Preparation

Students must understand that the recital is a complete presentation.  In addition to fully preparing their piece, students must also:

  • Dress Appropriately: Semi-formal to formal wear is required.  No Jeans, sneakers, or shorts.
  • Not talk or move around during the performance.
  • Bow after your performance.  This your way of saying ‘thank you’ to the audience for their applause.
