Joseph Fischetti - Associate Faculty of Clarinet, Saxophone, Drums, Theory

Mr. Fischetti recieved a a BA in music and education from Wagner College and a MA in clarinet performance from Brooklyn College Conservatory of Music. He Has performed with the North/South Consonance and has given numerous solo and chamber music recitals throughout the New York area and in Europe. Mr. Fischetti is founder and member of the Diverso Ensemble, which has been in existence since 1991.

Georgette Ionesco - Associate Faculty of Flute, Theory

The President of the Staten Island Conservatory of Music recieved her MM degree from the University of Music in Bucharest, Romania. Her specialty is solo and orchestra. She had the opportunity to participate at the International Summer Competition for Orchestra and Conducting, at the Music Conservatory in Vienna, Austria. Mrs. Ionesco participated at the International Competition for Wind Instruments in Markneukirchen, Germany and received a Mention Award. She received many National Awards in her native Romania. She was a member of the Romanian Philharmonic, Romanian Radio-Television Orchestra, Haifa Symphony Orchestra, and the Chamber Orchestra of the Israeli Philharmonic. She had the wonderful chance to work with famous conductors such as: Sergio Celibidache, Kurt Mazur, Stanley Sperber and Sydney Harth. In the United States, she was a member of different groups and orchestras and played concerts throughout the New York area. Georgette is an adjunct professor at Wagner College and President and CEO of Pro Musica Corporation. With Pro Musica, Mrs. Ionesco organized and also played numerous cultural-educational concerts especially on Staten Island. For her involvement in the cultural development of the community, Mrs. Ionesco was awarded by Senator Vincent Gentile.

Matthew Lepek- Associate Faculty of Flute, Saxophone, Oboe, Theory

Matthew Lepek is currently a freelance musician based out of the NewYork City and New Jersey Area. He recently received his Masters inPerformance from New Jersey City University with a specialization inMultiple Woodwinds. While in school Matthew studied with many notableperformers in the fields of musical theatre, rock, jazz, and classicalmusic, including oboist Marsha Heller, studio musicians Edward Joffeand Rick Heckman, flutist Kathy Fink, and jazz saxophonists JimSnidero and Bob Malach. He has performed across the United States andCanada on saxophone, oboe, English horn, flute, and clarinet invarious groups and ensembles. He has instructed students and run master classes for many differentprograms including French Woods Festival of The Performing Arts,numerous metro area public schools, and The Interschool Orchestras ofNew York. Matthew has also taught countless students from beginner toadvanced, young and old, for the past 8 years. Matthew is the saxophonist for the reggae/rock group Echo Movement whoextensively toured the U.S. and Canada with the Vans Warped Tour in2009 and 2010. They have also toured/performed with such groups asStreetlight Manifesto, Sonic Boom Six, BadFish, The Pietasters, SteelPulse, Donovan Frankenreiter, John Browns Body, and Passafire. He hasalso worked off-Broadway and as a pit musician for numerous musicalsin the tri-state area. He is a proud endorser of Tortuga EffectsPedals. Matthew brings his energy and passion from the stage to his studentscreating lessons that are educational, fun, and exciting.

Nicholas Simone - Associate Faculty of Clarinet, Saxophone, Drums, Theory

Mr. Simone attended Wagner College and obtained a BA in Music performance. He is now majoring in Sonic Arts at City College. He has worked with the Staten Island Symphony and has performed at the Metropolitan Opera House and Carnegie Hall with the Wagner College Choir. During the time at Wagner College, he joined the Woodwind Ensemble, Guitar and Lute Ensemble and the Jazz Improv Band. As of present he is playing with the Concert Band and Wagner Solo Projects.

Valeda Zaage-Bell - Associate Faculty of Piano, Voice, Recorder, Theory

Valeda Zaage-Bell received her Bachelor of Music Degree from The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She attended Manhattan School of Music, Temple University, Brooklyn College and Hunter College for graduate work. She studied piano with Charles Fischer and orchestral and choral conducting with Elizabeth A.H. Green and John Sinclair. On July 29, 2009 she conducted a 120 voice choir and a 30 piece orchestra for a performance at Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina. Recently Valeda recorded a CD of 20th century piano music for Patrice Editions. Valeda has taught music classes at Curtis High School, New Dorp High School, Port Richmond High School and Wagner High School. She was the music director for local productions of “Once Upon a Mattress,” “Marat/Sade,” and “Jesus Christ Superstar.” In 2005 she performed an original art song she composed for the New Music Collective at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music. She has been the organist, pianist and choir director for the Vanderbilt Moravian Church for the past 23 years. Last year, in 2010, Ms. Zaage-Bell composed seven "Haiku" for piano and debuted them at the SICOM faculty recital. Valeda actively plays with chamber groups as well. She plays trombone with the Conservatory Jazz Band. She is also the artistic director of a local recorder ensemble.
