The Staten Island Conservatory of Music offers music history courses covering the entire history of music from ancient time to contemporary music. All students are encouraged to participate in these classes once a week. The lectures are accompanied by audio presentations. Here are some of the topics covered in this course: composers, genres, styles, history of musical instruments, artists and recommended recordings. All the information we offer about ancient music, music in the Middle ages, music in the Baroque era, music in the Classical period, Romanticism, Post-Romanticism and 20th Century music, will greatly contribute to one's intellectual and cultural enrichment.
