I hear the results…
Mrs. Ionesco, we have known each other for so long, but I never could have imagined I would been so fortunate to have you be the instructor for my child. I can't tell you just how many times I passed by my daughter’s room feeling amazed at just how far she has advanced as a flautist. I can vividly remember when she started; only capable of mimicking bits and pieces of instruction picked up from videos on YouTube. Now, when I hear her arpeggios, I hear the results of having a great teacher who reinforced the maintenance of technique and instilled the habit of intelligent practice. Sometimes when I hear her play a cadenza from a repertoire selection, I find myself elated. Is this really my daughter? Did she just play that? She sounds so advanced.
On behalf of myself and my family, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You hold to a higher standard, and your school really makes a difference in the quality of music instruction anyone could look for in Staten Island. We are so very grateful to you.
SICOM's teachers are wonderful!
SICOM's teachers are wonderful! Our two children, who have different strengths and weaknesses, have both thrived because the skilled instructors who know how to tailor learning to the individual’s needs. You can only get that from experienced, dedicated and committed staff.
A few years ago, I was searching for a piano teacher for my son. It was difficult to find someone that he “clicked” with, at the time, he was only 5. A friend recommended the SI Conservatory and we have been attending ever since. My son loves his teacher Miss Valeda, and I like the professionalism of the entire staff. He has learned so much and is progressing musically. I am truly amazed. The cost is reasonable and they work with our school schedule. I have found that the lessons enhance his academic ability and focus. I recommend The Conservatory without hesitation.
A fun and thorough introduction to music
SICOM gives my energetic young son a fun and thorough introduction to music. Long-term expectations are high, but flexible. They pay close attention to his needs and abilities, making adjustments for his learning pace. He enjoys playing piano, and has no sense of how much he is learning because he is busy having fun.
Our first child joined the Staten Island Conservatory at the age of 4, and for the next 14 years music has been a staple of her education. Our second child became a music student at the age of 5, and he continued to study music at the SI Conservatory for the following 10 years, growing still as a musician under the guidance of extra-ordinary teachers at the Conservatory. Enjoyment of the truly universal language of music is now integral part of our children’s life. We can attest our gratitude to the teachers at the SI Conservatory who have helped to shape our children’s formative years with the lifelong gift of music.
